In 2017 we have introduced policy of rotating position of the Chief Adjudicator of the tournament, because of gender policy and equal opportunities and since we have started selection by woman, this is round of man. We are very glad to announce to you that the Itumeleng Kenneth Mohanoe has been selected by the Organising Committee as the Head of the Chief Adjudicator Panel 2018. Itumeleng Kenneth Mohanoe hails from the Republic of South Africa; he is a teacher, and has also been a member of Gauteng Department of Education since 2008. He has been facilitating adjudication tests and standards since 2007. Itumeleng sat on the South African Schools’ Debating Board as a Development Officer responsible for The National Academy of debaters in South Africa. He was recently a shortlisted candidate for the Team South Africa Head Coach position.He is the previous Head of Debating at the Bophelo Academy of Debaters (BAD), which has held various national, local and international titles including Constitution Hill of South Africa and Orate Africa Trust.
Itumeleng was previously with the International School of South Africa and served there as Head of Debating and Public Speaking. He was head coach of the North West Debating Squad for South Africa’s National Schools’ Debating Championships.
Itumeleng is currently teaching at Sacred Heart College, in Observatory, Johannesburg. He is an acclaimed speech coach, who has trained various public speaking champions. He runs and facilitates debating academies across South Africa, and also happens to be the Head of Orate Africa: South Africa Division. Itumeleng is also a dramatic arts and leadership coach, having trained many high school leaders in South Africa. As a debating coach and teacher, he has coached provincial teams, developed world speakers and created champions of note.
Itumeleng continues to train university teams that have gone on to win African Championships and have participated at the World Universities Debating Championships. He is also a trainer of many successful speakers and an author of several training manuals for debaters, adjudicators and trainers. He is also passionate about issues of self-development, and works with these through his life-coaching program. Itumeleng has also served on the Heart of Europe as a Deputy Chief Adjudicator for two years, which followed with another two years of him heading the Chief Adjudicator’s Panel alongside Frankie Cena and Petar Ivanovski. This year, Itu returns as Head of the CAP once again, so that his expertise can, once again, be experienced. It is his 7th year at Heart of Europe International Debating Tournament.
