Heart of Europe Strikes Back (Against Delays)
3/8/2012
The registration has started and one thing is for sure – we’re here and we‘re kicking. The details of our agreement with the University of Palacky in Olomouc are being finalized right now and there are some major changes for the better. This year, the accommodation for the participants will be located at different college dormitories, which are very close to the faculty of science, where the debates will once again take place. And since the food will be served within the college campus too, there will be no time lost due to needless commuting all over the city. This allows for longer breaks between debate rounds as well as it gives everyone more time for recreational or socializing purposes. If you still have some doubts, this should serve as yet another reason why to file an application – at our tournament, we intend to provide you with a time well spent.
Let your voice be heard
3/8/2012
After some careful evaluation of last year’s filming experiment, we have decided to transform and intensify the medialization of the tournament. What will it mean for you as participants? It means that we will attempt to record as much of your speeches as possible and give you much more space to express yourselves even outside of debates. Should you not wish to participate, noone is going to force you, of course. But if you’d like to present your country, to comment on your team’s performances, to share your impressions about the tournament or personal opinions about the debated topics, there will be a crew of journalists ready to relay your message to the whole wide world of web. Depending on your preferences, you will have several options how to contribute – via video, audio only or text. There will be a blog and a youtube channel (in addition to our FB and Twitter profiles), serving as news channels updated (as much as possible) in real time. So don’t be shy – we invite you to leave an impression of your own, to help us capture the moment. After all, the better documented the event is, the easier it becomes to revisit later or to share with people, who weren’t there.
