Mary Russell has extensive experience in the debate world, both in domestic and international leagues. She competed for seven years, participating in Team Policy, Parliamentary, Lincoln Douglass, and World Schools Debate. She also co-founded American Logos, a non-profit organization, in 2014 and has coached the American Logos debate team for the past four years. Mary has judged at tournaments in the United States, Romania, Croatia, and (of course) the Czech Republic.

Mary earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Columbia College in Missouri. She is a licensed teacher, but currently works in the Missouri State Senate. Mary firmly believes debate should be fun, and is passionate about sharing her enthusiasm for traveling and critical thinking. She is so excited to return to Heart of Europe for the third time this year to serve on the CAP!
